Methikanda Railway Station is a railway station located in Raipura Upazila, Narsingdi District, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. The burden of building the nation’s railway fell to the Assam Bengal Railway Company, established in England in 1892. The 150 km meter gauge line between Chittagong and Comilla, as well as the 69 km railway line between Laksam and Chandpur, were opened to the public on July 1st, 1895. The railway between Comilla, Akhaura, and Shahbajpur was founded in 1896. The Assam-Bengal Railway managed the establishment of the private Laksam-Noakhali railway section in 1903. On January 1, 1906, the Assam-Bengal Railway was merged with the line, which the government had acquired in 1905. 1910 and 1914 saw the construction of the railway line connecting Tongi, Bhairab, and Akhura. The Tongi-Akhaura line was intended to stop at Methikanda railway station.
